If it was used as a pool chemical hauler it is going to have corrosion in quite a few places depending on what they hauled. Muriatic acid (Hydrochloric Acid) and chlorine will destroy metal. I left a pair of pliers in with the pool chemicals in a chest and it rusted them into nothing within 2 months. Good luck with your project!

Those don't look to be that bad, plenty of options for fixing those. it will all depend on what you comfort level is.

You cant even drop a basketball through those holes... you're good. Lol

I had the same rot in mine. I cut out the rust and patched in new metal (I used rivets and seam sealer... don't like welding sheet metal). Shouldn't be too bad to repair.

I agree whole heartedly. Have a shop bend some metal. I screws my patches in and used polyurethane roofing sealant. That's not bad at all.

today I used an allen wrench and an impact driver to remove about 40 of my seat belt bracket bolts. The rest of them are pretty stuck and will likely have to be drilled out. Time to pick up a nice carbide drill bit!

whew! been a minute since ive posted any pics of the work ive been doing. all the flooring is out, all the seat belt brackets are out, and the rubber on the stairs has been removed. im working on the wall panels, but i have only done one so far. my ospho came in yesterday, so my next goal is to patch my large floor holes, treat for rust with ospho, paint with rustoleum, and then fill the bolt/screw holes with seam sealer.

also, a wasp built a nest in my radiator. not today wasp!

used an angle grinder to cut out all my rusty floor spots today! gonna pick up some 16 gauge sheet metal soon and use some rivets and seam sealer to clean up those holes. (also need to work on my bottom stair step, since its in pretty bad shape...)

Ive also been getting rid of unused wires in the cabin and cleaning up the electrical panel. Even got some free fog lights that ill be installing as extra backup lights on a switch since i now have the camera, and have some plans for front facing lights.

a few pics of my progress recently. Got the overhead switches moved down to the lower left hand dash, and removed the whole overhead box.

I was at Yellowstone National Park for a hiking trip for the past week, so progress has stalled. I get home today, so back to work! I actually saw a few skoolies out in the wild too! One full size bus and a shorty. I gave the guy in the full size bus a thumbs up and he honked at me as he drove by. He knew what was up[emoji106]

this may be a bit unconventional but i installed four 7" white backup lights in my front flasher slots (on a simple on/off switch, and they don't flash, of course). i thought since the holes were there i might as well put in more clearance/off-road lights. turned out pretty good i think!

ID:	24265 don’t think I ever mentioned this, but there was still a tape in the old camera system. We trashed our VHS many moons ago, so next time I’m around one I’ll See if there’s any video footage on it.

Little update on how things are going, started patching up the floor yesterday, and finished getting my wall panels off. Also got my overhead lights hooked up to a switch finally.

On another note, does anyone with a similar international Amtran know how to disconnect the low beams? Mine were changed to LEDs and flicked horribly on low beams mode, so you have to basically have them on at all times.

https://imgur.com/a/mwzePTb some pics on Imgur, since my phone isn’t letting me upload
