air ride seats

How difficult is it to add air ride seats to a bus? Can I just find some bases and mount my captains chair to them. We did a trip from Ohio to Alabama about 2000 miles, all went well but that made me want new seats with air.
Thanks

Re: air ride seats

You can get a good seat out of a wrecked luxury car also. Cadillacs' have some nice seats.

recent thread on Ian's forum about seats that you may find helpful

Fred Hobes page where he talks about using luxury car seats in bus conversions. It's at the bottom of the page.

Here is a link to escalade seats on eBay. Watch out for the shipping if you buy off of eBay. this should give you an idea on prices. Check with your local/semi-local junk yards before you buy online. You should get it cheaper.

Re: air ride seats

If you do it correctly, you can even add a swivel to the base of your air ride seat, and by some reconstruction, put a car seat in place of the place of the bus one, so you can have air ride, and electric car seat controlls. It depends on how the air seat is made. The last one I had, i couldn't do that cause of the air adjustable back of the seat. So one needs an air up and down only and just use that part.
