Talking Bama Bros Bought a whattttt?

What's up, everybody?!

My twin brother and I just bought a bus not to long ago and we plan on restoring it for a 6 week cross country trek next summer with some of our best friends!! We are pretty stoked about it, but we know there is a lot we still have to do to get this thing going.

For details our 1993 ElDorado National Squire, click here:
http://www.skoolie.net/forums/f6/bam...ert-14279.html

The outside of the bus is in awesome condition, it came with new tires, it was recently painted, and it didn't come with any seats in it giving us a perfectly clean slate! It does have a few issues, though (two we learned the hard way ):

It has an oil leak, transmission fluid leak, a roof leak, and several things are rigged in it [nothing that we can't fix]. We were driving it home after buying it and she died on us during a brief stop. We tried several things and found out that there was an electrical short in the headlamp switch and we had a bad starter. After fumbling around with the switch and bumping the starter, we made it home without any other problems:P

We have really struggled finding any kind of information on this bus, so any info will help! OshKosh guessed that only 1,000 to 2,000 of this kind of chassis was manufactured. Anyways, here are some pictures of the bus:

Thanks for reading!!

Wow. That's a crazy cool unique bus. It reminds me a lot of the classic GMC 23' and 26' FWD motorhomes; at least in style.

Definitely looking to see you two build this thing out!

It sure does look like the GMC FWD. What motor and tranny does it have?

It looks like it has plenty of head room and with those nice square sides it should be "easy" to convert. Great pics BTW. Jack

@serpent Haha, you are totally right! It really does look like a GMC FWD!! We couldn't pass it up after checking it out. Definitely different from what we have been used to seeing. Thank you very much!

@ol turnt

Motor: 5.9L Dodge 360 V8 (5.9L Magnum)
Tranny: I believe it is an Allison, but i'm not too sure on the specifics quite yet

Thank you for the encouragement. It really does have plenty of head room. I definitely like the simplicity of it and the opportunities available. Thanks for checking it out.
