Blown gaskets?

o we need help. so a while back we tried to head towards florida. and before long, smoke was pouring out the front of the bus. and the back. now i'm no mechanic - but i knew this was a problem. one of our friends said he thinks the gasket is blown. what does this mean? if it is what is the next step? (and i really don't want to hear "get a new bus") how much in damage costs are we looking at?

please help.
