i am interested in list of requirents for title as rv and your insurance carrier.
Thanks for sharing. The title was done by the dealer I bought her from. Avery's used trucks in Avon park. I have not yet received my title. Also still have not found insurance yet. Been denied by geico and a local broker could not do anything. Going to wait until I have title to try again.

That's not far from me. I'm doing mine in my back yard. You could rent a place? I rent a shop down the street that would allow me to do it there, just easier for me to have it in my yard. I could ask around, my sister lives in Dunedin.

Slowly making progress. Almost have the subfloor done, plan on finishing today. Got a great deal on vinyl laminate planks. Also picked up some old oak cabinets for a case of beer.

Got my title

Unfortunately Avery's did not transfer title to RV like he said, it still says bus for private use. Hoping to find insurance so I can convert it myself at the DMV and register at the same time. Just got a name of insurance guy that insured another skoolie in this group so hoping that works out.

Got insurance

Finally got insurance through All State. I'm in good hands now. Now to register and have it converted to RV. Everything is coming together. Now if I can find more time to work on Bean.

Dmv

So my first attempt to convert title to MH was not successful, I have to get my bus weighed first. I did get tags on her though so wasn't a complete waist of time. It's a different affidavit than I have seen before. States that I am changing the actual body on my bus. Hopefully will get it weighed tomorrow and try again.

Hmmm
At my local office you sign a paper and they change your title for free.
They made me weigh my first bus but the last three they just ask me how much it weighs. ALL my buses were from out of state, too, fwiw.
Maybe the local bus dealers are fudging so many of those affidavits that they've changed the rules?

Maybe. It doesn't really make sense to me. I told them there are no body modifications. I'm in Pinellas county. The supervisor said he has done them before. We will see what happens. At least she is legal to drive now.

I don't think they mean "have you changed the physical body" when they ask that question.

I think they mean "Have you added the necessary features to change the use of the body".

They are, in most states, very visual. If it looks like a bus inside, then it's a bus. If it looks like an RV, then it's an RV.

The affidavit says specifically that one body was removed and another put on. I will just leave that part blank I guess. Also doesn't say anything about one of the 3 things that need to be done. I just hope they don't give me the run around.

Thanks, Brett.

I used the form TL-13-05. Had to copy and paste and make my own form that I signed and brought in. Registered the bus and had it changed to Motorhome in about 45 minutes.

Edit: words and link

If it's the form in the pictures from this post, it's not a TL-13-05. There are two different forms so you can go two different routes. The TL-13-05 doesn't require anything but saying that you've either installed 110, plumbing, or lp gas piping.

Just the top half of the photo. From conversion affidavit to LP gas installedClick image for larger version

Thanks but that is exactly what I brought with me the first time. Maybe I should go to a different office?

either something has been changed with re-titling buses in FL, or someone's got you doing it wrong over there.

I'm willing to bet they got it wrong. I even told the lady that she said he could be and he was the only supervisor there. Ill jump through their hoops I guess.
