BruinGilda in basic paint.....

Greetings,
Here is the basic paintjob. Still need touchup in a couple of small spots and painting the front door. Also have to do the grey and black panels on both sides kinda like "Bessie" but thought I would share the progress so far. Need another 4 to 6 hours for taping, masking and painting, but you can get the basic idea.

Enjoy!

EDIT: fixed link to picture.

I always liked Bessie's paint job, but it looked way too intimidating to try. Your version looks great! The way the line goes across the middle of the nose gives that Loadstar a unique look.

Is the door going to have to stay off white, or are you going to paint it?

Greetings,
Thanks for the kind words.
The door will be painted to match the rest of the bus complete with the stripes that go across it. The headlight trim rings are missing in the picture. They were drying, so they missed this pic.

The front end definately has a different look - it doesn't look quite as dog-nosed with this color scheme as with a solid color. This was an accident, tho.....after I had painted the grey and white on that morning, I just grabbed some 2" masking tape and took off, playing it by eye, so-to-speak...

I plan to do some panels on the back at the top similar to the "Bessie" bus, just slightly different and maybe some matching panels on the hood. After looking at "Bessie" for a while, I realized that one of the reasons she looks so good is that the "busy" paintjob confuses your brain/eyes and makes you change your focus to the paint and panels and not at the nose.
Also, when the door is painted to match, your focus will shift a little more towards the back as it kinda sticks out right now because it is not "asthetically correct" for the rest of the bus.
