Great paint job for a first timer. The color is very unique. Should be easy to find her in a crowded parking lot.

First thought was "pea soup green" but I changed my mind. Not a color you see just everywhere. What color & brand is it?

I'm not exactly sure. I'll see if I can find the number and manufacturer. I got it from a local auto paint shop that mixed it there. There's not really a brand name on it that I can remember, and the color wasn't called anything except for its number. I like to think of it as pastel spring green. I do like the "minty fresh" description though! Pea soup is yucky!

Very cool color. Literally.
I much prefer lighter colors on something big like a bus. You two are awesome, very bold and adventurous!

Man you nailed it on the color scheme... Rock and Rollin...
I was considering SeaFoam Green like an old Chevy and was gonna do a beach house theme inside... But went with Nutmeg instead with the Rustic Cabin interior.

It's fun to watch you guys moving right along...

It really looks great!
I vote that you travel around to other skoolie members who have not painted yet and offer to paint theirs for them. You can start here in FL. I'll let you park here while you visit the mouse and other attractions.
Anyone else want to vote for them to paint your bus?

If you remember the color "Sea Foam Green"...

I'll up-vote this one! The paint job looks fantastic. I want our damn bus painted by the winter, but I just can't seem to find the time! We pay in free camping; libations; and wood-cooked meals.

PS: more pics of those screens soon, please!

You know what would be fun? To show people how to do it step by step. Explain what you need and the technique. As long as I didn't have to sand anything I'd love to help. We actually travel all over the country and try to stay at free places everywhere we go. If we had a way to make a little cash by visiting fellow skoolies and painting their buses, well that would be a great way to stay on the road.

I'd totally come spray your bus for some Disney tickets and free camping! No sanding though

We'll be sanding down the frames tomorrow to prepare for painting. The welds got some surface rust from getting wet. A storm last week blew the hangar door off its track onto the ground and soaked all of the frames. This giant 20'x12' door fell over beside the bus and missed hitting it by about two feet. A 10' ladder fell over and missed the bus by 2". We weren't here at the time and came home lucky.

The left over white and green paints will be mixed to make an even lighter green to spray on the window frames.

That's gonna be a nice touch - my Bead board inside below the windows is somewhat that color - it's called "Corn Husk Green".

You got very lucky it sounds like - no damage and no broken glass... [emoji818]️[emoji818]️[emoji818]️[emoji818]️

Hey ONENATIONUNDERGOAT, how did you keep the dust and insects from sticking to the paint while painting? also is this a good paint sprayer from harbor Freight

We cleaned and washed (not using carwash soap because that has wax in it usually, we used simple green), wiped down with "grease and wax remover" to make sure none of the oils from our hands were on it, and then used a tack rag right before spraying. But the rivets liked to catch on the tack rag and tear it up. We did end up with some dust mixed in because we had to paint outside and it's just going to happen. There were a handful of bug prints but not as many as you'd think because the paint dries so fast. In fact, even with using a generous amount of slow reducer it still dried so fast that it was almost impossible to keep a wet edge. If you spray beside something that's already too dry, the overspray turns into a chalky dust that un-glosses what you've already painted. We just had to live with that. The paint shop guy down the road says he never uses acrylic enamel in summer for that very reason.

I'm not sure about that gun, it's different from the one I used (which was a really really old one that my dad had already). I like the idea that you don't have to carry the paint in your hand, though. That got heavy after a while.

I'll post a picture of mine later. I think I might type up a spray-painting tutorial later if there's not already one on here.

Ah come on EastCoast....I thought tickets were dirt cheap if you were a Florida resident. That's what my Mom and her neighbor told me and she lived in Kissimee.

I too, am waiting on you finishing out the screens. We plan to just do vertical wooden slats outside on all but the emergency windows. Would love to do the aluminum frames like you made but...... Not planning on slatting the tops or bottoms ( hopefully they'll be snug enough to deter the bugs.) Are you still planning to do the "kiddie cages" on them. Inquiring minds need to know.

Your holding up my conversion.

WE GOT INSURANCE! WE GOT INSURANCE! WE GOT INSURANCE!

Farm Bureau was glad to help. They said that every insurance company is required to at least cover you with liability, so they didn't know why anyone wouldn't do it. But we got a 50/100/50 liability coverage for $222 a year! They already spoke to the underwriter too, and it's written as a regular RV policy so it shouldn't get cancelled.
