AmTrans was the name of the company that was originally Ward and later became IC.

Genesis was the model name for their front engine Type 'D' bus.

Those buses tended to be either really good or really bad. I think the quality was determined by the day of the week and the month of the year.

Mechanically, the Genesis used off the shelf International Medium Duty truck parts. Practically all the parts are still available from any Navistar International or IC Bus dealer. Most wear parts are available from NAPA or CARQUEST.

The DTA360 was almost exactly the same size cubic as the Cummins 6BT and had about the same HP and torque ratings--from about 160 to 210 HP and 350 to 500 ft lbs of torque. The "A" denotes the engine has an aftercooler. It is known as the little brother to the DT466 and is just about as durable. Most were paired up to the Allison AT540 transmission.

Cowlitz, I gotta say that it's really nice having you on here! Thanks so much for being a treasure trove of information (and suffering fools like me gladly, for the most part ).

At the end of the day, the only dumb question is the one not asked.
