Looks like you got a good bus and the 10MPG is sure nice with the price of fuel these days. Can't wait to see more pictures.

I looked at your work, nice so far....but a question....

When you ran the wiring down through/from the chases (the pics show where they hang down), did you use grommets where the wire runs through the sheetmetal? Better safe than sorry, it's just that I couldn't see any there.

What kind of glue did you use for the carpet on the walls? How well is it holding?

Wire grommets, strain reliefs

OK, good. If you haven't used those rubber grommets before, you may find them easier to install if you put the grommet in FIRST, then slide the cord through it. The grommet MUST be a snug fit in the hole, or it's worse than useless.

Just as a second thought if you had the appropriately sized hole you could use an NM 3/8 clamp, just like they use for outlet boxes, etc. Would guarantee the wire doesn't slide through and put a strain on a connection/wire nuts etc.

BTW, the toothed trowel is there to guarantee that the carpet gets some adhesive to hold onto (forms high spots).....I've seen jobs where the installer used tons of adhesive and still never managed to get the carpet/tile to stick...good work!

Nice progress!

What are you going to use to cover the dinettes?

I have been looking at these https://www.rvsurplussalvage.com/catalo ... gory_id=26

Or building my own frames and using these

Glad to hear your first trip out was successful! I'm gonna try to take mine out for a short hop this weekend, and since everyone I've seen is heading for the coast, I'm heading the other way!

my bus used to pull to the right requiring the driver to apply constant pressure to the left side of the steering wheel.

putting new steer tires on the front cured that problem, made less road noise, and made the bus ride better.

your bus

pjespers, your bus is looking great. I like the living room in the rear idea, it looks very cosy and airy. A nice place for noisy kids to hang out while you are driving also. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on how everything is working.

Re: Our conversion begins...

I read your entire Conversion Page last night and I just now noticed your Thread here today. From what I can see it looks like you won't have any problem at all installing that flue. Your Conversion speaks for itself as to what you are capable of. Nice work!

Re: Our conversion begins...

very nice conversion, for a "jack of all trades, master of none" you do pretty nice work.
Really like the fabric chosen for your cushions.

Overhed Cabinets

Where you have put overhead cabinets can you post a description of the method and materials you used to mount them, especially where fastened to the ceiling. Pictures would be wonderful.
