Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
I like 'em both, but like black betty 1.jpg best (sitting on the car), but I think the camp never rest logo takes away from both schemes...maybe put that on the hood, eyebrow, back, or top rear corner of the sides so it doesn't draw your (my) attention away from the cool paint schemes...just my $.02.

Black Betty #1 & lose the Never Rest graphic, too big, detracts from Betty or keep it and shrink it down ALOT (even waaay too big in view #2) Bam-a-lam?

Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
I vote #2, but really shrink the logo down or put it on the header and rear header of the bus. Betty needs to really stand out as THE focus of attention. She's a hottie in need of the attention......
Somehow I find it difficult to envision a hot rod with Dayton wheels and rims though...

Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
our plan is to get the CNR graphic on the back, and on the hood.. I told the designer that wouldnt work! Not so worried about the campground deal.... I think it will turn some heads for sure! we are excited to see how it turns out! I appreciate the feed back!

What? These are the original hot rod wheel! The famous Cragar SS is just a chromed gasser wheel. The original gasser wheels are like those on this straight-axled Falcon. You want the spokes painted gray and then give the rim some shiny aluminum paint or send them out to be chromed.

Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
The bus is almost done with the fabrication.... take a look! Its been a long haul, but finally starting to take shape. We used rivets for the entire bus... welding just caused warpage etc....

Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
We used a custom lazer cutter to do all the metal work for the bus. We took used the demensions of the bus, entered them into the computer and it custom cut the sections. The door is two metal panels, one inside and one out, and both panels have been rivited to the frame which sits in the middle (core) of the door! We didnt use one weld on the bus to apply the sheet metal. The only welds were minimal for repair needs. We simply put 20ga metal over the old skin! I will post more pics when I can! The bus is officially ready to paint as of today! WAHOO!

Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
We have "temporarily" gone the cheap route and turned our original 2 piece door into a one piece door. But, for us, "temporary" does seem to last a long time. As a kid, my dad pulled a single wide mobile home on to the land in NC for us to live in... that was in the summer of 1965. Then added on a living room, master bedroom with master bath with a roof over the trailer the following 2 summers. The trailer was "temporary" as it was to be pulled out from under the roof and that section was to be finished out (kitchen, dining room 2 bedrooms and a bath). DAVID finished up the house around 1985! So far I like the door... we may keep it. but it's just a skoolie and everything is just "temporary"!

Re: Camp Never Rest Mafia Wagon! 1979 bluebird
If any of you Bus Converters are looking for a custom door, contact rich at MFR metals in Elk River Minnesota. He is the one that did our door on our bus, and very reasonable. He said he is willing to ship them... Absolutely cool... the guy is amazing!

Check them out!

****UPTDATE******UPDATE********UPDATE******
10/24/2010
*Our bus has taken its first coat of black paint, and is really starting to take shape!
*We went through the entire heater core, as it had not been touched in probably over 30 years.... it was messy, but done, we have HEAT! (in minnesota its a priority!)
*We are in the process of mounting a new drivers seat, leather with air ride, and the train horn, which will plug into the air compressor for the seat!
*I will post pictures soon! Come back and take a look!

Having same problem here, lets me post in gallery though. I think its because they are too big. Most of mine were 1.24 mb. I think that may be the problem who knows?
