Looking good BB.

You need to show me how you got those wire chase covers off. I tried the square bit I have but those screw don't want to budge.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

Leonidas, I copied the "GoodNews Bus" technique for the framing. Its definately overbuilt. Thats for sure. So you can either look at mine or "Goodnews Bus".

The wood on the ceiling is 1x3's and I cut several grooves about halfway through then soaked them in water. I would suggest praticing a little first. Takes a bit to get used to.

Thanks for the tip Jarlaxle. The showerbase is 24x32

Brian, they can be a pain. Its a combination of

1. Rusty screw threads
2. Too much paint on the screw head not allowing to get the bit all the way in resulting in stripping the head.

First off try to get the bit all the way on the screw head. Even if you have to tap the bit in first. ( I know, time consuming). I'm assuming you are using a drill or screwgun?

Then you want to push quite hard so that bit gets a good bite and doesn't want to pop out and strip. You probably already have some that are stripped. What I did with the stripped ones is tap all around the screw head with a chisel to loosen the rust and break the paint around the edges. Then try to back it out.

Good luck.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

You might also try a "Steam Box". It does the same thing, but from what I remember, the steam box will work for bending wood without having to cut the notches out, but it takes a long time to steam the wood.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

Thanks for the tip Sojakai. The method I'm using is working out pretty good.

Last couple of days I have been working on the dinette wall and dinette benches.

Water tanks also came in and I test fitted those.

Wall and dinette bench.

The bead board area is where the dinette will be. The area with 1/4" luan will be covered by a 6 foot long bench.

Within the last few days, I finished up the dinette seats and installed the water inlet and hoses.

Completed Dinette seats!

I also decided to raise the bed frame 3" because I wanted to be closer to window height and also so the tank fill and vent hoses coming off of the inlet would clear the bed frame against the wall.

Absolutely! I work on it just about everyday during the week from 330pm to 7 or 730pm. Takes a lot to pry me away from this project!

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

Today I ran some pex tubing for the shower valve. I would recommend using the pex. Its much easier than the CPVC pipe. Basically just cut and clamp.

Guy I work with had some leftover pex tubing that he gave me and also let me borrow his clamping tool.

That would suck!

(And yes, I do know that from experience.)

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

your bus is coming along nicely. wish i could remember where i left my balls so i could tell the wife we're getting one like it or not!

till then i'll just live vicariously through you guys.

where north of boston are you? you should be close to jake von slatt. he's got an amazing bus.

one of these days i'm gonna make a road trip up your way and check some of these things out. maybe even bring the wife along in hopes of getting her to see the light.

till then i guess i'll just have to be content with my trusty old toyota sunrader. damn, i wish that thing was a little bit bigger.

HA. HA. Thank you. Jake Von Slatt is about 15-20 minutes from me. But he doesn't seem to be to active on this site. I also emailed him with no response.

BAILEY BOONDOGGLE lives 3 minutes from my house and he is converting the same bus. No relation. We just happened to hook up on here.

Pete C. If you ever do want to come this way you can swing by and see my bus and Bozo's bus and kill two buses with one stone!

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

Well, not too much to report lately. It took me a while to get some of the tinting done. I ended up cutting the tint a little too short so I had to touch it up with black pinstriping and follow it up with some black silicone around the edge of the glass. WHAT A TEDIOUS JOB THAT WAS.

I still have some windows in the back to do. But I will cut the tint accordingly this time.

I also cut out the opening for the furnace and I am about to start the kitchen cabinets. But I am kind of nervous starting construction before having the stove in hand to test fit. Even though they list the cutout dimensions. I still have my doubts.

Today I got the water pump, tank plumbing done. Took me a while at Lowes to get all the fittings and adaptors I needed. The little brass cylinders in the picture are check valves. So when I have city water hooked up, it does not back up into the tanks. And when I am using water from the tanks it won't back up to the water inlet.
