Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

I have a nice big skirt dent like that I need to straighten. Fortunately (for me anyway) AmTran's roof bows don't go below the floor, the braces for the skirt are separate. It looks like I can just bend the braces back. I also see I'm not the only one who thought to use a pad from the rear seat as a creeper.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

Ok, so I haven't posted here for over a month. I've been working on a few things. Mostly the time consuming process of designing, planning and building the holding tanks.

I also figured out how and where to reuse the OEM heaters. The fans pull the air from the top down through the heater core and out of the bottom. I ordered fan blades for a counterclockwise fan motor ( mine is clockwise or vise versa can't remember) because I plan on putting the heater unit on its side, cutting off the legs for more room and when I'm done the air will be pulled the opposite way and pushed through the heater core.

Also ran the vent pipe through the roof.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

I decided to weld vertical square 1" stock to the side of the frame so I can bolt it to the bus frame. The other side of the frame will be suspended with threaded rod.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

The black tank frame from Rv surplus was a real odd shaped tank and a real challenge. I had to custom bend my frame to the contour of the tank. (courtesy of BUNEDOGGLE'S idea).

I used the same frame method for the black tank as I did with the grey tank.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

Yes, I tried reversing the wires, but for some reason it did not work. Motor spun the same way.

If your fan blades are not too brittle you can bend them the opposite way. Some of mine were very brittle and cracked. I ended up ordering a couple new blades from the local Thomas dealer. $13 bucks a piece and they are the counterclockwise blades. I guess these heaters had either clockwise rotation or counterclockwise rotation.

Mine was clockwise rotation and I wanted to reverse them so I got counterclockwise blades.

Re: CHANGED AGAIN! THIS WILL BE IT!!

This weekend consisted of finishing the shower, and focusing in the bedroom area.

I spent a considerable amount of time prepping the bus heater and figuring out how I want to build a frame around it. I was hoping the edge of the heater lined up with the edge of the bedframe. But that didn't happen.

Thanks guys! Working on the bedroom area right now. Running some cable wrapping a few things up under the bed. Cleaning up loose wires. All that fun stuff.

More pics soon!
