Yes, I thought the same thing. It might lose a little strength, but for its purpose, I think it would still be strong enough. Just make sure it has enough friction that it stays folded and doesn't accidentally flip out to where it might do damage. Or maybe a little magnet that holds it out of the way?

Re: Church Bus
as long as air can flow thru the unit it will be fine, and most lower units cab be turned 90 degrees...old ones could atleast

Thanks for the input! yes, the main reason was because it fit so nice between the 4x4 deck frames. i did a bit of looking into it and bansil is correct. as long as air can Circulate in the system it should be fine. The majority are placed facing forward to be more aerodynamic while on the road. I figured since I was going to have a deck on top when complete the unit would be the least of my wind resistance problems Rain could be an issue but after I seal the roof with some Hy-tech and build the deck with rain collectors underneath it I’m crossing my fingers the skoolie gods will smile on the design.

Re: Church Bus
So I must admit I am not a huge fan of the RV door One of the whole reasons I started the bus conversion process was because of how poorly RV’s are made. This is proving true with the new door as well. I don’t feel confident in its design or the level of security it offers. Even though it means A LOT more work….I’m contemplating cutting a house door and putting some hinges up on the frame I already have in place……

Re: Church Bus
I almost got rid of my bifold, but it's air operated and the kids think its the coolest thing ever. My wife even loves it, so it stays, haha. Anywho, the install at least looks good! Leaving it for a while is a good idea, it helps you gauge how much it will bug you

My bus has air activated front door as well. When I first got the bus, I played with it for quite awhile. It reminded me of the sound the doors would make on Star Trek.
