Re: Credit Score 1000 Bus
Do not use 1/8" lauan for the ceiling. What a catastrophe.

Re: Credit Score 1000 Bus
I'm up to 13 videos on youtube. Way more progress than on here. I'll post a couple photos soon. But all the good are on youtube. Can I embed the videos on here? Sorry I stink at the internet.

Re: Credit Score 1000 Bus
This all looks great!
Can you explain why 1/8" luan was a disaster? I'm planning on kerfing 1/4" plywood and there are only a few skoolies I've seen with contoured plywood ceilings. I was basing my design off Jatzy's. What went wrong? It looks great, besides the exposed screws, but those can be remedied. Are you going to leave the wood? Stain it? Paint it?

The 1/8 luan was good for the actual curve, because it Is held to stress capacity. It becomes very rigid when bent. But where the rest of the roof is a very soft curve the 1/8 became very flimsy and started to sag like a blanket. I had screws every 8 inches and it was drooping in between. And I couldn't get the 1/4 luan to bend the corner curve. So I used the 1/8 on the corner and the 1/4 down the middle. This is shown on my youtube videos. Number 6 I think. 5 and 6 maybe.

Re: Credit Score 1000 Bus
Just learning here but couldn't you score it in the same way you did the insulation to make it bend? or is it too thin to make that work?

I tried. It was too thin. It just cracked.

Re: Credit Score 1000 Bus
We have been watching your videos for a while now, good stuff man!
I too like the idea of the dividing door just after the "cab". I'm going that route, as well.
Great job, its an amazing bus and we just love your ideas.
