It doesn't need to be surgically clean for the Corroseal to do it's job.

I found that just knocking off the loose rust with the wire wheel on the angle grinder took a very long time. I seem to recall about a week of work.

5/25 still stripping it down

Nearly completed the floor prep. Removed the rear AC unit and the rear panels. I can't believe the amount of dust that was in the bottom of the framing and throughout the old insulation. Just like with the floor I was debating removing the panels and insulation, now I'm glad I did. The insulation in the rear weighed about 4 times as much as the same size piece we took out of the middle and it was all dust that had worked it's way into it. Also a small area of rust on the lower rear passenger side panel. Doesn't look too bad but will have to treat that too after I find the source. I suspect the ceiling where the conditioner is mounted will also have some rust as one of the mounting bolts that goes through the roof was rusted too. As for the lift door, we decided to keep it. The old one was bent on both top and bottom. I played with it for a couple of attempts and decided it wasn't ever going to be what I wanted. Joe at AAA got me one that looks brand new for $200. Just for future reference, he told me that most all of the Blue Bird lift doors are universal. This one came off a late model micro bird and fits perfectly.

A parking lot for a fleet is called a bus farm.
Growing crops for roadside sales is called a truck garden.
With all that dirt onboard, looks like you could start a bus garden..!
Coming along nicely. [emoji106]

Mix in some good loam, a little compost, and you'll have yourself a bumper crop!
(Unless the accreted soil isn't near the bumper...)
Sorry, not an original signature. I've seen bus planters before. Granted, most were being colonized and overwhelmed by Mother Nature!

6-1 Update

Finally finished pulling all of the AC, heater hoses and wiring out. Now I can move the bus over to the wash rack and scrub the floor in preparation for painting. Work hours are shorter cause it's getting HOT!

Floor Treatment Done!

Corroseal finished. Pictures aren't that great because of the sun shining through. Will get some more this afternoon.

6/7 Update

Interior ceiling skins removed. Was expecting to find some leaks and rust but none found. If we can get the sides down and the insulation cleaned up before it gets too hot tomorrow I think the demolition will be done and the building can start.

Just a few more small rust treatments, sealing the escape hatch, and it's time to rock and roll

Finally Time to work on it

I was able to get a little time on the bus this week. In addition to this the old AC mounts were flat stock on the roof with bolts going through to hold the inside units up. Removed and holes patched. Had our first monsoon roll through yesterday afternoon. No leaks.

update 2

Maxxfans installed and working, AC installed and working. Note the redneck scaffold. Lift AC to tailgate, Lift to truck roof, lift to bus roof. This is one job a helper would have been nice to have. I have also re-sealed all the windows, sealed all of the lights on the back, repaired some more rust spots and did some wiring work. Next will be solar panel mounting and luggage rack on the back. After that she should be sealed off real good and I can start the interior.
