Re: "DER BUS"

This project took three gallons of Valspar tractor and implement paint with hardener and 4-2oz./gal. of naptha sprayed thru a cheapie HVLP gun.
It took longer than expected to get a handle on the gun but once I did it was game on. It really is the way to go. There are holidays no doubt but after 24+ hrs of solid painting, I can live with em. I hope it sticks.....
It is VERY bright! Unbelievablt so! The neighbor bought 10 or so bushes to plant on the fence line....or I should say for me to plant. She is real nice when she wants to be and right now she wants me to plant them.
From what i understand the paint is not the best but it went on in one step and covered really well. It is very smooth and is the best i have ever used, which isnt saying much. So far I am happy with it.
A milestone for sure!

Re: "DER BUS"

The bus looks great! A nice coat of paint is transformative. Although it sounds like your neighbor likes it even less now. Makes me wonder what my neighbors think. I thought the white made it look less "white trashy" than yellow with blacked-out lettering and primer spots, but as your new bus name indicates, that may not be the case!

Re: "DER BUS"

"intentional redneck". I really do like the sound of that. Although i am not sure if that applies to me because I have the suspicion that I have been in the closet my whole life. I am certainly very comfortable with it.
Did you have to look up the name or do you know Latin that well?
Ie is it pronounced al'bus or al'bu

Re: "DER BUS"

Ha! Yeah, I think the redneck gene is in my blood. Probably passed on from my Cajun ancestors. I had actually edited my last post to remove those comments. Didn't want to seem too "uppity" with my comments about being an educated, "intentional" redneck. But what the hell, like you say, might as well embrace who you are right? But no, I don't know Latin that well. I did look it up. That is a very clever name though.

Now that looks like fun! Could you help me with my front door? I'm over by Sealy. Let me know what the materials cost in a PM if you could. Thanks! The bus looks AWESOME!!!
