Re: Destined to Burn

Howdy MonkeyMike & Welcome to the Madness --- Sounds like a very fun & interesting project. Been trying to make it to Burning Man for years and stuff always seems to interfere. Will absolutely be there once my shorty is roadable. Have a bud here in Houston who is Legend at Black Rock...Barter Bob. I think last year was the first he's missed in almost 20 years. He is such a fixture they quit charging him entry.

Please do figure on taking lots of pix and sharing them here. We just love watching other people work! Can't help with that motor but maybe someone here can fill you in. You might also check with the Chevy maniacs over on the Stovebolt forum. Someone there is bound to be familiar with that engine.

Onward!

Re: Destined to Burn

those are two items you should get as either rebuilt or new. There is more than one truck place in eugene and springfield. I think you will find the gmc v-6 a bit of a gas hog, fwiw

Re: Destined to Burn

I've noticed that on this discussion forum there are two main types of skoolies: the rednecks and the hippies. Looks to me like ya got yerself a good ole' redneck bus, and are planning to convert it into, like, a totally groovin' hippie bus, maaaaan! Now you'll have to paint over the little moniker under the driver's window that says: "Bubba" and instead write in: "Cowboy Neal". Sorry, only the hippies will catch that reference! Although here in Austin its kinda hard sometimes to tell the rednecks from the hippies. We've got a kind of Willie Nelson thing goin' on here. Okay, okay, I'll stop now!

If you haven't seen it already, check out Elliot's School bus 101 post on eplaya. Are you going to take a stab at making her into a Mutant Vehicle?
