The Old International plant is gone, the one they built north of Springfield is doing pretty well cranking out trucks, It's where they're supposed to be building the Navistar/GM Joint venture trucks and they're currently hiring. I can't say much for the rest of Springfield though other than I'm glad I live out of town.

So I got my title and BOS in the mail!
One thing I noted- there's NO mention of weight anywhere. Very little info, but it IS a legit Colorado title. Maybe that's a CO thing. I'll get an ins policy, I just hope they don't ask what it weighs.
My friend and neighbor Shaun is gona go get it tues/weds this week! YAY!

Do you still need someone to go help your friend get it started and on the road or do you have that covered?

wow i didnt know there was still any navistar plants in Ohio.. I do rememner as a kid living in columbus and themn as a teen in dayton, the hundreds of school bus chassis going along route I-70.. headed west to indiana or north.. to either Superior, carpenter, or Wayne... those 3 factories kept IHC cranking out the Bus chassis... schools in ohio were scorned if god forbid they bought a conventional school bus that wasnt a superior, carpenter, or wayne... a family friend became a BlueBird salesman on Bucyrus in like 1980 and had his work cut out for him to sell ohio into Birds..
I was destined to be a Bus Geek when he would always bring a Bus to family gatherings at my grandmothers house in Bucyrus.. I was allowed (at 12 years old) to drive each one around grandma's "circle".. her street was a very quiet low-traffic circle with suburban style homes built in the late 60s.. they were all gasoline automatics.. International chassis of course..

I could make it to Denver by midday on either Tuesday or Wednesday. It would be a 3 hour trip for me, so if someone closer to Denver wants to volunteer then that would be fine. I will send you a PM.

Man, that may be a real lifesaver. I'll see what I can pull off, but I may take you up on that.
I'd definitely be grateful!

If he knows his route home, let us know and maybe some of us could have a place to sleep, stop, or at least get a cup of coffee.

yes, I had a 2014 Subaru forester that lost oil pressure at 15k miles and destructed on the side of the road... got a new engine after fighting for months. they said an "aftermarket" oil filter killed the oil pump... I took it to the dealer for service. I got rid of that pos lol

The Fb engines will end Subaru's legendary reputation for reliability. Even their HUGE online PR presence can't stop that.

I found out during this mess that they routinely replace engines that come from the factory with such bad tolerances that they burn a quart of oil a week... Brand new. 0w5 full synthetic oil??? May as well use water. Anyway hijack over. Sorry lol

Bash subaru all you want, its healty to do so... Very few entities in this world I hate like I hate Fuji Heavy Industries. And man, their dealer network is SHADY.
My 2012 burned a quart every couple weeks... The dealer sorta swapped me a 13, and it burns about a quart every 1500 miles.

And the Fort Valley plant is bus HEAVEN. You will see configurations and options that you didn't even know existed. Fort Valley is a small town but the factory rents just about every square inch of vacant lot in the town and packs it with hundreds, if not thousands of buses awaiting delivery.
The only thing that doesn't get manufactured there are the Type A buses, which are assembled up in Canada.
And driving a new bus is pretty nice. If you think new car smell is nice, wait til you try new bus smell
I will take pictures if I go down there this summer. I am not sure if they offer tours to the public and I'm pretty sure you'd need a CDL to test drive their stuff.

Pretty sure I found their shop!
