Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
For the tank that will go under the bed, why not build a slight tilt into that section of floor with tapering wood strips and plywood, such that the supply line will be at the lowest point?

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
your bus is looking good,
when you covered your 2 back windows , did you remove them?, or frame them in? Im thinking about covering ours up, but Im thinking that condensation will run off the glass into the insulation. With that being said, I really dont want to take the glass out, just frame and cover
tks

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
Not sure how much condensation would be a problem while a wood stove is burning. They tend to suck up moisture from the air. Growing up in an old home (over 100 yrs old) our wood stoves did a hella job of drying out the house and our sinuses.

What are you thinking about doing with your windows?
cheers

Im thinking Im going to build half walls under the windows, and limo tinting , then just hang curtins, I think it will look ok, and wont have to worry about condensaion, we live in the cold, and then bus will be parked for most of the winter, till we can become snow birds.
Ill have pics posted when I get it finnished (soon I hope)

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
awww *hugs* Always rough when a beloved animal meets his time. Keep thinking of taking in a homeless dog myself but my daughter is TERRIFIED of animals. Maybe when she's out on her own.
Okay I saw that! See that Smitty. PINK. Now you have to put pink racing strips on the bus. I think everyone should on skoolies.net!

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
Is that a composting toilet? A hybrid black tank & compost? Or... are there plans I missed--You're not building a rocket shoot are you?
Sure seems composting is popular on these forums.

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
I plan to do my plumbing install in steps, with the first step (for grey water) being just a shore connection and drain hose I can run to wherever I need it (camp sites often have a gravel area under their supply faucet, or I'll use a portable container). That much will give me water when connected to shore, and doesn't cost much. Later when I decide how to handle tanks, I will add those. For blackwater, I will start with a primative composting toilet, then decide later if I want to deal with a blackwater tank.

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
I'm thinking of gluing some thin (1/8" or 1/4") cork sheeting on my ceiling. It will help with sound dampening, and has at least some insulating value without reducing headroom very much.

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
Here is the thread I started about this topic: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6363
BrownCrown used construction adhesive to glue carpeting to his ceiling.
I'm still not sure what I will do.

Re: Dr Lulu's Folly
Can you give details about that chimney? What are you using that lets you put it together and take apart so quick? Any air leaks? Stove looks like the Jotul models.
