E-Town Acres Woody Build

Hey Everyone. Thought I'd go ahead and start my build thread.

Here's what I have:

1995 Blue Bird TC2000
30Ft of useable space!
5.9 Cummins
Allison Tranny (not sure which one)
198-XXX on odometer New Engine at 148-XXX (Not by me)
This was a military transport bus then a church bus.

I paid $2500 for it. They were asking $5K
I felt like I got a good deal.

My goal is 10K all in. I don't have the plan all laid out for this build. Kinda winging it.

A few things that I'm doing for sure:

Off Grid Solar
Compost Toilet
Back up Generator
Roof Rack

I'll try my best to update as I'm working on.
We've got a youtube channel where we will be uploading videos as well.

Here we are on demo day pulling the seats out. Most of them came out easily. We did have to cut a few bolts off with the grinder.

The wooden floor came out in splinters. It was a PITA

We took out both of the overhead AC units and the floor heater then started removing the ceiling panels. I wasn't aware that grinding out the rivets is the hard way.

All the ceiling panels are gone. Still gotta pull the AC units out and plumbing for them out.

Good point. I never looked at it that way. I did buy the air chisel and a bigger compressor though. I’m prolly $250 in on tools for demo. I’m good with that.

Looks like you are off to a great start. I am still looking for a bus at this time so you are much further along than I am. I am reading a lot of build posts and watching a great many on YouTube as well. I hope to minimize my pain by learning from everyone.
I look forward to following you as you progress on your build.

Thanks Roger, I pretty much did the same thing. I still consume most of my spare time reading about other builds and watching YouTube videos for inspiration and instructions. Please come back and check on my build. I’d love to have you around.

Moved to the house to have it closer. Wife begged me not to, I listened well.

If you’re not using an air chisel, you should be.

Old wood spots? Pressure washer works great after the shell has been gutted. Wait for a warm day so it will dry quickly.

The pressure washer helped get a lot of the surface rust as well as the left over wood from the floor removed. There’s still a good bit of stuff to remove. Click image for larger version
