Finally- We're bus owners

Hey all been lurking for almost a year now. My wife and I finally bought, an Amtran/Intenational pusher.

Have to say all the great info here, led me to an informed purchase.

Here's the beast:

Couple questions, after I inspected it. Opened the side door, now the darn door open alarm is going off. Can't figure out how to stop it. Checked the doors and windows are all secure. I'll eventually take it out, right now it gets qute annoying with that dang thing buzzing.

Had the seats removed, will start setting it up soon.

Great site!

Re: Finally- We're bus owners

Sweet thanks all

Yeah we took a look at a bunch of them. Got this one for 2500, the place I bought it even threw in seat removal for free. It was worth the wait. I'll be using it to move the famiy first then hopefully get to work on conversion.

Just remember to prick your finger and trip some blood in the bus before you start the work. The Bus God demands blood and will get it one way or another.

It's true. I tried sacraficing a chicken but it still required my own blood. Nice bus, congrats, and don't worry, you'll learn to live with the madness.

Re: Finally- We're bus owners

Do you mind me asking where you got the bus? Looks great - this is EXACTLY what I want to get. I'm hoping to be in a position to get mine towards the end of summer or fall...

Welcome Duckfoot!
Nice bus, I really wanted an AmTran but couldn't locate one in the area... I just started working on our new bus & have donated much blood to the cause in a matter of oh, maybe 2-3 days (wear gloves)!

Good luck & post many photos!

Re: Finally- We're bus owners

Thanks everyone,

I just ordered a marine grade pooper, tank, all the hardware. Also got the fresh water tank on the way. I went all marine grade stuff, we are hoping to live in it someday. Far as the skoolie god is concerned, does getting your bus towed count?

We live in Jersey so they are nuts about parking- i parked it in a lot I thought would be safe, wrong it got towed.

But we got it back, and I managed to back it into our driveway- so now we have, to find a new place to park our car LOL
You might be a redneck, if you park your schoolbus in your driveway and your car in the street.

We got the buzzers all removed(million feet of extra wire now), I installed a locking system on the doors. Took a look under it- Cool the frame has tons of convenient holes for mounting stuff. The engine compartment has space for a generator. So, I'll be getting to work on it soon. For now it's going to be used as a moving truck to AZ, then the fun begins.

Re: Finally- We're bus owners

OH yeah as for where we got it- we found it here

http://roxburyauto.com/bus/bus.html

If you are in the area give them a call ask for Manny- they have tons. I mean tons of buses. All of them about 3000.
Pretty much you walk in the yard, and he'll tell youthe keys are in them, find one you like and it's yours... they will also remove the seats for you.
They have 20 day temp tags easy to work with.

Good luck

Where exactly is this place? I see directions, but no city or state? Or am I just blind as a bat with an earache?
