What gauge sheet metal has anyone used for floor repair. Did you pop rivit weld or screw down? I was thinking about screwing repair sheets down. Any experiance?

Thanks Chuck

Re: Floor repair

i havent checked, but its somewhere like 16ga. its easy to mig weld after ya grind it clean, i have done that, and also predrilled holes for things like the center of the walls and the dinette base. i used 18 ga when i was making up a couple of patch panels cause that is what i buy in sheets at the scrap yard. pop riveting with steel rivets would work fine as well, and be easier than screwing it together in my estimation...
i just put about 100 pop rivets in some panels on mine... on sunday.

Re: Floor repair

Thanks for the reply sounds like riets would be easier then screws. They look like they would lay flatter then a screw head. Thanks Chuck
