We found it on Ebay. I HIGHLY recommend you call Mike at "The Truck & Bus Stop" in Thonotosassa. He was AWESOME to deal with! He is a dealer and buys and sells these all the time. Tell him you heard about him from the Michigan boys!

Cruising speed was about 70 at around 2k to 2100 RPM's. They were having a hard time keeping it under 70 from what I was told. 6th gear was not open. My brother did a bit of research into this and found that you have to contact Allison and get permission for them to approve an Allison tech to open up 6th. Fuel mileage averaged 8-10, but they didn't find the "economy" button on the shift column until they got back. We learned that it may save a mpg or 2, but it's not huge.

So we've taken a month or so hiatus and are back on track to getting Freebird finished. We've been having a lot of issues coming up with a layout that works for us. I think we are on to something now. Spent last night building a temporary "mock-up" of the bunk area. This will provide us with ample space for totes, coolers, changing clothes, etc, without having to walk to the front of the bus. Instead of building 6 bunks we're doing 4.

an mpg or 2 is 20% or more! That is a nice increase. If it were getting 50mpg, than it would not be a huge deal.
