Gameseven's skoolie Kenworth Pacific's
Hello Fellow skoolies !
I have done two Kenworth Pacific skoolies, a step van conversion, a teardrop trailer and a teardrop toyhauler. Kenworth school busses were only sold in the Northwest and I was told there were only 300 of them. I have seen them elsewhere on the internet but they are rare. They were very well built busses from 1956-1960 (i think). They were a great bus. My first had a international 501 cu in straght six cyl that ran like a sewing machine and my second had a V6-53 detroit diesel. Both with 5 speed manual trans. I have been lurking here for a while and thought I would introduce myself. I have the itch to do a short Bluebird or Thomas flat nose but would love to have a rear engine pusher but front engines seem to be the norm for the shorties. I have seen the shorty rear engines but they are very new in my area of central california. I want to do a bus with very little time using lots of bought furniture, cabinets and appliances. I put 100's of hours in my last two busses and I would love to just knock one out in a few months. My desire is to keep all the bus windows and nothing is built above the window sill for a sight line from front to back. I have been thinking it is for two people, why put little rooms in a small area? I would use the twin beds on each side of the hallway. Rear bathroom with shower curtains so I could sit in a sunken shower pan and get a good shower. Toilet on the other side with small walls. I want to keep a really wide open feel. Well here is some of my projects...... other projects

Re: Gameseven's skoolie Kenworth (#1)
Hey gameseven --- Great looking unit! I really like her lines. And if it's a KW, it's got to be well built. Never seen one before, but I like what I see. Sounds like a good plan...best of luck with the build out and please do keep the updates coming.

Re: Gameseven's skoolie Kenworth (#2)
This is skoolie #2. It has a detroit diesel and a 5 spd manual, rear engine. I want to do a shorty bluebird. I have owned (2) 35 foot motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers and a teardrop but never a small simple motorhome. I think it would be great to have something small and not so much work to get it ready and go for the weekend.

Re: Gameseven's skoolie Kenworth Pacific's
hello Ryan,
It is lake Isabella in central California. I also used a combination of metal studs and track in both of my busses. It is so easy to screw down some track on the floor and the ceiling and put in a stud. I used some wood studs and some metal ones. Once you use liquid nails and sheating, the walls are much stronger than anything you would find in a traditional motorhome/trailer. I used self drilling and drywall screws and I was pretty close to being done with framing in less than two days. It is definately the way to go if anyone is considering using the metal framing !!!
Oh and I love your bluebird conversion, It looks great. I am getting excited again, but I want the shorty this time.............
