Getting Sea Worthy

Hey everyone--- I'm going full-tilt on getting our bus ready for the road this month so I'll be sharing as much as I can

Our bus is a 1987 GMC C6000 short bus.

It has one of those 366 big block engines that they had in production from the 40's all the way to the 90's without changing much on them.... so they are really great to work on.

My friend and I are both artists and the bus will function as a small studio where we will work on scripts and paintings as we travel.

So far, the crowning gem of this bus is the hood ornament --- which is a chrome shark sculpture I had. I just love how the size of it compliments the bus.

The bus has a really cool vibe. It was a church bus and I like the colours we found it in.

I'm inspired by nose art from wwii and I'm going to give the bus a sort of classic steam punk feel by painting Elvgren-type pin ups on the sides.

Please keep posted as I look forward to sharing and being part of this community!

Welcome, that's a nice looking shorty. I've got an '81 with a 366. What a good tow vehicle.

You know some teenager is going to come along and pry that shark off your bus when you're not looking.

It would be good to run a 110 volt line to the shark, then go sit somewhere nearby and wait and watch.
