Bus project, what is the dimensions of your dinette? And how far apart do you have the 2 benches from each other? I'm going to be doing a similar setup.

Re: Good News Bus Conversion Project

I know that the dinette comes out from the wall 3'. It is over 6' wide so that when it makes into a bed it will be comfortable.

If you require exact measurements let me know and I can post them tomorrow.

Re: Good News Bus Conversion Project

Thats the point that they were trying to make... You have your wires going through what appears to be a couple of rough holes. You should have some grommets to keep the wires from rubbing against the metal and causing a short.

Re: Good News Bus Conversion Project

Looks like car audio wiring. I used to use a lot of this stuff back when I managed a car audio install shop. Can get some great LARGE fuses and circuit breakers, battery terminals, wire, etc from most install shops.

Re: Good News Bus Conversion Project

Ok...I see what you are talking about. I made the holes big enough to fit Great Stuff Gap filler around them. This should provide sufficent protection for the wires. These are car audio cable and have a tuff outer skin on them.

Re: Good News Bus Conversion Project

I will have to pull them out to check them. I have the rack at just the right height where the batteries can be removed without having to lower the rack.

Have you thought about getting a Battery Watering Kit? A couple squeezes of the pump bulb and your batteries are all filled.

Just to get an idea: http://www.batterywatering.net/
