Curious...what's your plan for finishing off the inside? I cut some very lite sheet metal to fit mine but I'm thinking about attaching something like Formica over it. Outer skin is welded, inner skin will be screwed in place for access to adjustable hinge plates. Not being straight or square, adjusting mine will be...tricky.

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

Thanks guys!

bansil - I bought the lock boxes. $8 each. Can't beat that.

Tango - Right now the plan is to cover it with wood. I will trim and paint it like the other 4 windows. My only thought with wood or something other than metal was to try and get a thermal break effect going on. We shall see...

Now I need to figure out a way to secure the door in the open position. Any ideas?
I was thinking maybe a hook and loop setup off the mirror bracket or maybe a giant magnet?

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

Not sure if you noticed my 1st door mod, when parked I pull pin and door is "free"
The mirror is no where strong enuf if you have lots of different folk using the door as the "last hand hold/ brace" while exiting bus.
Nothing got bent,I just had to readjust mirror before we moved out on last day

The door minders work great and I would just attach it to mirror main frame....even with the above statment...hell id rather it move some than for folks to not have fun

Re: Great White Buffalo - 92 BB All American RE

Here are pics of the door stop/holder I built.

Detail door closed.

Door held open

Originally it didn't have the plate welded on top, but it wasn't quite strong enough, it bent where the plunger hole was. Now, with the
plate it is quite strong. It also looks better with the hook stored for travel.
