Re: Haulin' Toyz - '85 GMC Skoolie in NJ

yeah thats the one i was referring to. i dont think its too much gray...i will probably wind up with something similar except a light blue metallic instead of red and perhaps a slightly lighter shade of gray/silver...

the other layout isnt bad either...i think the scallop would look nice if it were re-oriented somehow

i really like the paint scheme on the santa fe trains...the silver and red with yellow accent....

i think i saw a bus painted like that on one of these forums...i really like that a lot.

I also live in NJ & documented my Rutgers bus conversion. It's in my signature. Regarding your questions, I transported it with dealer plates and insured it as a motorhome. I told them on the title it said Chevy Bluebird Motorhome. It's a van body so perhaps I could've insured it as such. Then I went through all the requirements of making it a motorhome. Painting it, removing seats, stop sign and top warning lights. Building a bed, sink and installing a microwave (or stove). I took a picture of all that plus the vin number, got a certified weight slip from a truck weight station ,copied my drivers license and sent it to the Foreign Titles Dpt. in Trenton. I had to do that to change the bus title to motorhome. I sent it Friday so I'm hoping for a quick turn around.

ah ok...

foreign titles sounds funny lol...only in nj would a bus from another state require you to go to "foreign titles"

i might run into a prob because i need it reg and insured while i work on it...the lot that is allowing me to do this requires it and i also want to be able to drive it to have certain work done on it...

pickle....

sorry for the highjack op..

It's probably already registered as a bus. Just insure it as a motorhome. That's what I did as I worked on it.
