So now that all of the floor boards are up this is the rust I've found. This is around the wheel wells. The holes are much larger now that I've been pounding around them and jabbing screwdrivers into it.


I bought some Ospho that I am going to put on the surface rust of the floor, but this is too bad for that. I need to cut this out and then figure out some kind of patch for it.

First, what tools do I use to cut this out? Then, how do I patch the holes?

Any other tips or advice at this point.

Looks like those areas need to be cut out (with an angle grinder and cutting disk)...then patches of matching gauge steel welded in.

Those are natural breathing holes.

I realise not everyone shares my fondness for rust.

So I was up on a ladder looking (for the first time) at the roof of my bus. On the furthest back seam, there is this gap between the two seems. It doesn't look like there has been any type of sealant or filler in there. Before I paint the roof, should I fill that gap with something?

Absolutely. Automotive OEM Seam Sealer is killer stuff for such situations.
