Ideas-adding room to cut-off short bus
Trying to figure out if we want to add a room on our flatbed that we could put a bathroom in. Any ideas? The flatbed is approx 8 foot. Thanks

You could always just build an "outhouse".
If not that, you can cram an RV style "wet bath" into as little as 36" x 32" (yes, that's how small my combination shower/shi##er is. A composting style toilet and a hand held shower wand are all you really need. Unless you are married of course, and Mom insists on a full sized tub to soak in. Can't help you there.

I say just mount some porcelain out on the deck. Tango already took the outhouse idea.

If it were mine I would have it covered but not fully enclosed so you still have a patio but the small bathroom obviously has a door.

If you still have the old roof, you could put it back on.
Love the little Blue Hauler. I'd use the snot out of that setup.

Thanks everyone. The bus was cut-off with no flatbed on it when we bought it, so reattaching is not an option! We have thought about getting an old bus and cutting off a section and reattaching, but thats where it gets tough. For all you that have raised the roof and added to your bus; is it easier to build what you want or reattach what is already built? I had the idea of raising the part you add on maybe a foot or so higher and taking the back door on the original part out. Making it a ceiling height entry to the new part. I have alot of ideas but I just don't know what can be done. Anyone that is a welder or metal worker probably knows what is possible. We love the bus so selling it is not an option! The paint job is truckbed liner and that has really worked out well.

One more option...
find the same bus wrecked in the front, take off the rear cap and a some roof and attach it all onto the rear just far enough back to create a small room while leaving some deck area. Would come with the door even.

I think old semi sleepers can be had pretty cheep. They are well built and come in any size you might wish. They have some nice built in storage too.

I have to say I like building what I want. Seeing your rig just makes my head spin with ideas for that 8ft of real estate.
Are you a good welder?
On the other hand reattaching something seems like less work off the top and usually is but putting the strength back into it takes thought. That takes time to get it right but then you have made something you like and want.
Again, an adorable rig!

I like the idea of a sleeper attached to the back. If not that, then a teardrop trailer?
