pretty much the same way we did ours, used 1/8 sheet metal, 5/8 plywood. 1x1/2 blue styrofoam. the 1/4 plywood for the finish, worked well.

you can also put in a 26 inch door (in my case) and if you have a compartment, use its floor for the first step
