Man, thats easy. When you get your bus home, you'll find all sorts of places to put components. A little one like those ryobi's would be a piece of cake.
Now, fitting a diesel genset is a different story.

That's exactly what i have (the ryoby 2200 unit)!
It runs an LG 12K BTU portable AC without issues, but i think it overloaded with the old cluncky little fridge, which i think got fried...time to shop for an energy efficient mini-fridge

Trying to avoid chopping the body, but i reeeeally wanted to make a tray on rails to pop the genny in and out for starting it.

However, I don't think i'll do that. I think I'll do a support frame under the bus, and the genny will sit inside something like a "roughneck" tote for weatherproofilg while driving (ventilation holes, of course). It will be a bi@tch to turn on the genny, then move it in place....

thats a nice little genny!! I might have ot get me one of those just to have around the house.. ive been thinking of ways to integrate one into the bus without chopping the body too much...

im already going to put my engine-powered A/C condenser under body instead of skirt mounted.. but yeah im sure i'll find all kinds of places to put stuff...

wouldnt putting a gen inside a rougghneck get a bit hot?

ive been thinking i could use something like this

Window Unit Air Conditioner Protective Cage - 24"D x 36"W x 24"H

and then fab up a locking front door for it..

Crap I highjacked another thread...

i was going to sell or scrap them to be honest. The seats are uncomfortable to me and id rather build my own so Illinois doesn't figure out some odd new rule to get more money from me XD

I have an idea to use a small generator inside of an old cooler. It's not necessarily for weatherproofing, but for noise dampening and disguising it. I figured I'd put it on a rack on the back bumper and cut some sizable holes for ventilation. The holes would all be on the side of the cooler against the bus. Don't think I could run it with the lid closed, though. Biggest concern, obviously, is heat and melting the cooler.

Ventilation holes should be on opposite sides of the cooler, though, so air has a way to in and out.

Well My skoolie project has hit the first road block. it was an expected road block, just not as soon as it arrived. The long story short is, for the next month or so i will only be completing small tasks that cost little to no money. Looking at craigslist for freebies and so on. Side note the rails are still coming along nicely and the floor should be out in 1-2 weeks i hope.

I've gotten some EPIC finds on CL.
I know how you feel, and don't let it discourage you. You're working at your own pace and on your own terms. Thats the beauty of it. I'll run out of money or get frustrated and leave my bus alone for a month. best to keep moving, and do what you can with what you have sometimes.

CL is a great lace especially in the spring and early summer... now is when alot of people are cleaning out garages, basements, etc... in northern climates people are trying to get to their bikes and realizing just how full their garages are... people in my neighborhood CL stuff and also just set stuff at the curb the night before trash day...

you dont even have to dumpster dive you can just drive around and find good stuff...

also drive around college campus.. theres often actually good stuff left behind by students and the landlords of the apartments just stack it all out at the curb... you can find microwaves, fridges.. furniture etc.. stuff you might even be able to sell for a few bucks and get some cash flowin for the skoolie..

Thank you both, i will keep my eyes open for all of that. Im still in teardown mode, as the floor still needs to come up. So once i get it up and price rust converter and a paint color or coating( the cheaper the better) ill be all set to find scrap wood. As for the other stuff, im hoping someone will put up a CL on a parts RV and i can scavenge. My spirit is strong, so i wont be deterred just delayed.

That's the spirit!

Ospho is $35-$30 at my local Ace Hardware. Lowes has Rustoleum for $25 a gallon.
Even I can afford these
