That's nearly 10 times the price i paid for the bus when i bought it direct from the school district. It's about 150% of what i've spent on the bus total.

You are one of the few that have actually made money with an old bus. Almost everybody looses money when they sell. Congrats

I realize i am one of the fortunate ones. I was prepared to accept less money than i spent on the project.

apparently he owns a bar or two in New York City. He said he plans to use it as a limo bus at least once a month just to pay for the maintanence. not sure what he plans to do with it the other 29 days per month.

i'll have to see if i can get VIP access to the club, perhaps i'll stop in and say hi when i'm out there in late sept.

i delivered the bus to buffalo ny a couple days ago. Buffalo is just on the other side of ontario, canada. The guy who bought it is from new york city and he hired a couple people to drive it back.

I live on the border between canada an the us, so trips across the border are not that big of a deal usually.......but i've never taken the bus across before.......

to get there, i had to drive across the border into canada, drive just over 200 miles in canada, then cross back into the USA. I payed the toll, drove over the bridge and slowly approached canadian customs. The agent started by interrogating me. It was like 20 questions. Then the conversation turned less hostil. Up until that point, it was the longest i've ever spent at a border crossing talking to customs. It was only about 5 minutes however. Then he told me i'm all set. I couldn't belive i didn't get inspected. It was about 9pm as i entered canada.

Drove the next 200 miles or so without stopping. Got to the US border into niagra falls NY. I pulled up there, and two agents were busy doing trunk checks on nearly every vehicle. Not full blown pull over to the curb and go inside while we tear your vehicle apart searches. They were just doing simple can you open your trunk for me please searches. I pulled up, and handed my liscense to the customs agent. Two other agents came inside and spent about 30 seconds looking things over, then left. The border guard told me i was all set and i proceded to new york.

This is a really long story......and nothing happened. I guess that's what makes this particular story so interesting.

I fully expected to be pulled over and searched at both crossings.

they payed me in cash. So coming back i had over $6,600 in 20's, 50's, and 100's. Didn't even get asked for our drivers liscenses on the way back, although both crossings asked us how much cash we had. I found that a little unusual, since i don't think i've ever been asked that question before.

Stopped in toronto on the wya home to pick up my new dj equipment. That was a total of 100 miles out of the way, but shipping was over $200 so they were worth picking up.

i took time to show them all of the bus' different systems. The stock stuff like adjusting air brakes, bleeding injectors ect, as well as the jacuzzi, the aux electrical system's yada yada yada.

I also gave them my number and told them they were welcoem to call with any questions.

The first time they called, they had let all the air out of the air ride seat, and couldn't figure out how to get air back in there!

The next day they called and said the bus wouldn't start.......They were staying at a friends place there in buffalo. over the phone, we got it started, but now it wouldn't charge........ugggggggg! what a mess.

The button to start the bus is not stock, it's just one of the available switches on the bus' stock switch panel. I eventually remembered that the wire that energizes the alternator (an alternator needs battery current to create electricity) is on the same circuit as the starter button. The wire that brings 12v+ to that particular circuit must not be doing it's job...which would explain both the not starting, and the not charging.......If i had been there, it would have taken about 10 minutes to trouble shoot and fix the problem....

The guy who bought it is apparently some millionair......I told him yesterday that if he wants to fly me back out to buffalo, i'll drive the bus to nyc for him as long as he also flys me back home, I'll do it at no extra charge.....still waiting to hear from him about that....he was a little dissapointed that the bus was already having issues (so was I) but i assured him that i have been using it frequently, and i drove a total of 270 miles the day i delivered it and had no problems at all. I drove it over 100 miles the weekend before i sold it, and probably averaged about 100 miles a week this entire summer and it's always been reliable. In 25K miles it's only left me somewhere once, and that was when the starter went out. He doesn't want is money back or anything, he called just to see if i could help track down why the bus was having electrical prblems. Hopefully it all works out well for him in the end.
