its funny I have allot of LPs and CDs bu man you can fit allot of dam music in a little metal box or on a chip

I have these 4 gig micro SD cards that hold many albums technology is awesome for music

man its been cloudy here for a week or so followed by about 3 or 4 days of rain and I had to use the generator for the first time 6 months or so (had power at the farm I lived on for charging batteries) the freaking main and idle jets were all nasty and it wouldent run at first but a few strands of wire from a piece of 10 gage and some non chlorinated brake cleaner I had luckily and VIOLA! the drone of a freaking generator for like almost all day
so now my batteries are happy again and we are supposed to have some sun now

thanks for being here guys and gals

So far, I like you... Stand up guy...

I'm only a year younger than you... Still married with 3 kids... I can only imagine how hard it was to make the decisions you've made to insure that your son will have what he needs...

The only thing I can offer is, spend as much time with him in the summer that you can... Show him places and things... The memories will last a life time...

Have you ever noticed that all the feel good, back when I was a child movies, almost always take place during the summer???

Good luck with the new job...

Many of the better head units have 1/8" inch input jacks on them anymore, and USB is getting more and more common. That way you could just plug in a 4 gb thumb drive and have access to between 400 and 500 songs, depending on their file size.

In my own bus, I use a JVC KD-A815, which has the aux input jack, USB and also bluetooth. The bluetooth feature I don't really use for talking on the phone, but there's a great benefit in having it, to me. I have an LG EnV3 phone, which has a really nice built-in MP3 player. I have an 8GB MicroSD card in it with about 700 songs. I connect the phone to my head unit via bluetooth as "external headphones" and I can play all the music on my phone through it. I have tried several different brands of MP3 players over the years, and surprisingly, my phone has been the best! It has all the features I want without a bunch of needless BS. Also, my little Samsung netbook has bluetooth, so it can connect to the head unit the same way.

My JVC is a higher-end deck, so they run about $250 or so. Crutchfield has it on sale right now for $180. If you have no need for the bluetooth, you can get the KD-A615 for around $150. It's the exact same deck, just without the bluetooth and not quite so fancy a display. Either deck, you can change the color of the display and the backlighting around the buttons to match your dashlights or whatever. I installed the A615 in my sister's vehicle, and she has the button lighting purple and the display area pink!

Somethings wrong, the white wire should be at the same voltage as the ground.

Only when it is used as the neutral, and even then there may be a measurable difference depending on how far from the main disconnect the wires have been run. If the street disconnect with the required one neutral bond is, say at a campground office, due to ground resistance you may be able to measure a voltage between the neutral and local ground at a pedestal.

In 240-volt wiring where you have both 240-volt and 120-volt loads, like a clothes dryer with a 120-volt motor, you need to have have 3 wires plus ground. White is neutral, and black and red are the two hot legs. If you are using a pure 240-volt appliance like a water heater or electric baseboard, with no need for 120 volts, you do not need a neutral. It is common practice to use black and white for the two hot legs to these types of hard-wired appliances. Try to buy a piece of Romex or UF with only a black and a red wire.

I don't know if the same applies to 208-volt only three-phase wiring, whether a white lead would be used instead of blue one for the third hot leg, if there were no need for a neutral.

Also, in a room with light switches at two entrances ("three-way" switches), in cases where the power source and the load both run to the first switchbox the black, red, and white wires might all be alternating hot legs to and from the second switch. You would always find at least one of the wires between switches hot, and either of the other two could be hot to ground depending on the two switch positions.

I enjoyed the photos, Jak. Like you said, the interior is rough, but I like the functional utilitarian style of it all. You explained the fresh water system but I was wondering how you handled gray water when parked for extended stays, and what sort of toilet was on board.
