I did get to pull my FSS on the side of the road, bus full of friends on our way to a rally 6 hours away.

I had just driven it long enough to get to full operating temperature. It was in june, in NC so yea that was fun. It is really tucked in there too, if you have to remove the solenoid to take out the plunger as I did.

Glad yours was a power supply issue and not a rubber tip failure or a sticking plunger like mine!!!

No doubt,if you notice what you have is what I was worried about...(inline FSS that sends rubber into the pump...not good).....mine has a solenoid that moves the mechanic fuel shutoff "lever"

To get rid of what you have you would replace it with what I have or just a pull cable.

If mine malfunctions, all I have to do is pull wire connector apart and pull the lever down to kill the fuel to pump

Gotcha, I do also have that mechanical shutdown lever on the Bosh VE pump. It is manual currently.

WHen i pulled that plunger out I never put it back, I just always walk around back and push the lever with a rod. I should instal a cable i geuss.
I like going back there though. I see any developing leaks, loose belt, and I forces me to give it a "cool down" and usually i just leave it running on short stops off the highway. this lets the turbo bearings especially cool off and stay lubed for the next time I start it.

If you go performance or have other trouble shooting issues I use

great WIKI and plenty to search through

OK Carry on.
