Main reason I havent shot in so long...gone are the days of buying L1a1 (?) surplus 7.62 x 51 for pennies a round.
I remember going into the local shop with $125 and having to use the hand truck to carry out 4 cans of ammo 7.62 x 39 and 7.62 x 51

I bought a 1934 model hex Russian 1891/30 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant Rifle ... Like the one pictured....
I still get 880 rds of 7.62x54 for $165.00 delievered...... w can opener.
S&G Ammo online... Don't shoot much, it kicks like a mule, but got it for when the zombies do come.........

I've got a hex receiver from 1929 I think. I've also purchased ammo from S&G. Good prices.

Tommorrow starts a very long 3 days of busting my azz to be ready for "the 3 hour tour..." 1 week in the bus camping with friends....its a guys week ,fourwheeling gold panning and kayaking on the lake(might be "adult beverages partakin in)...it will be nice to actually relax

Personally I prefer 000 over 00 and alternate rounds in the mag with rifled deer slugs. Nine rounds of .36 cal all delivered at once followed up with a .75 caliber bullet allows for some nice "options". Bring on the Zombies!...or Semi Tractors...

been busy last couple of days securing stuff, and generally getting ready to hit the road.
installed a block for my sons "borrowed" fridge to keep it off the wall

secured ready for the road

blue strap will stay on at camp...


1/2 the curtains up

here is microwave and rotisserie stowed for transit

also one of the coolers

mounts thru floor.

installed hasp's front and rear to keep honest folks honest


installed 2 smoke detectors, 1 on each hatch since it's the highest point.

and I forgot about them until I was burning off an electric eye....holy shiat...I almost pee'd a little...i mean who would think about a smoke alarm in a bus...it will get your attention

I can see gages again...wet sanded and polished the plastic..I still am going to replace..but atleast i can see the numbers


I installed an invertor up front to power laptop for nav/info while on the road.

just a 500W I picked up cheap.

So I needed a mount for the laptop...

some cutting and grinding and hammering later this is what I have.
I cut out a slot for exhaust and mounted a fan I had laying around

test fit.
added a velcro strap

added some 1/8 foam for vibration control

and hooked it up; and powered on... after throwing gps puck on roof



also installed pass seat belt,finished securing seat,made other straps...lots of small crap...dang 3 days left and I have to work..

Yes, tho its like texting its not safe with eyes off the road.
Its more for a quick look...to confirm a route already planned.
Version2 (or when my wife is co-pilot) she navigates and can control what I look at from zooming,exits etc. When she's with me it will just be a 2nd monitor feeding off her laptop as a 2nd screen.
We always plan everything with paper maps....the digital is just a reminder when cruising.

I can control music etc from drivers seatwhen solo tho'

1st real trip went great!
400 miles of mt driving esp. after learning how to drive the bus in the mountains (I will post a writeup about that to help others)
setup in camp..she's almost camouflaged

every morning started the same.....

sewed up a front privacy screen and installed some hooks...simple and works

we had "UN-corking" parties every night,every body brought a bottle to try
just enough privacy

as for the light on the "head-ache" mirrors,I installed 2 led strips from another project,powered by a 12v phone charger jack.
it plugged into the power strip on the dash for coffee pot and stereo speakers.
