"The D'" as in DEEEtroit. Not that I'm bragging, mind you. The farther away from the big cities I get, the better I like it.

Yea, well you're preaching to the choir, the only time I spend south of Harrisville is passing through. I hate cities period.
Nice thing about northern Michigan is lots of forest...few people.
I really like the area between Harrisville & Rogers City. And love the U.P.
Be heading up that way come early spring for some R&R.

I need info

I have just bought a 1996 AMTRAN school bus with a DT466 engine. It has 81000 miles. I am wondering what fuel mileage im going to get. Im not sure how much it is going to weigh. Is there anyway to guesstamate this. It has a auto trans and im not sure of gear ratio or tire size. it has had no alterations done to it bought it directly from local school. I am dumb when it come to the mechanics part of this. Is it even possible to estimate the fuel mileage without knowing the loaded weight gear ratio etc.. We are planning a trip from West tennessee to charolett nc in may for the nascar race. The bus will be fully functinal by then with holding tanks, fridge, things of that nature. It well be carring 12 adults and sleeping the same. Its sad to say but I dont even know how many gallons the fue tank will hold. Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what you are asking here, both of your posts appear right above this one.

As for your original question, I don't think there is much of a way to determine this. Too many variables , including YOU, the way you drive.
I would think though it would be save to budget for about 6 mpg, anything above that would be just extra spending money at the end of the trip.

My opinion is this----->

Maybe try starting your own thread rather than highjacking one????????
Could be a better mannered and more successful way to get the answer you seek.

I used to spend many a fall night salmon fishing at Harrisville off the end of M72. All perfectly legal, of course, no snagging. I would never snag a salmon - that would be wrong.

Our family camp is 20 miles west of Cadillac and is a perfect spot for unwinding.

I like Cadillac all the way to the Jordan river too......... in the summer.
Too much snow for my tastes in winter.
The Jordan river valley is a sweet area though.
Use to vacation around Charlevoix when I was a kid. But that area has turned into way too much of a tourist area these days to interest me. Hence why I now like the "blue collar" east coast best.
Naturally the U.P. is the best for pure nature and beauty. U.P. folks are a great bunch too.
Michigan is hard not to like.
( mind you this is a Buckeye saying this!.........shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... don't tell on me)
