Hello, Been here looking around reading a bit and decided to add our “RV” Build (Yes, its a RV
We decided to go this route because it just made a hell of a lot more sense than buying a used RV for 15k…
She is a 2002 Thomas Built with the good old CAT 3126B and Allison 148k miles. We live in the Detroit Mi Area, so you can guess why we decide to get our bus from the south. Drove to Richmond VA to get her. And glad we did. She is in very nice shape.
We will be full timing in her come end of next summer. We own a home and all the other stuff that goes with it. We are selling EVERYTHING (not relating to the journey at hand) and moving south. My lady is from Florida and she is not a fan of winter. I can't say I am either.
Long story short we are just like many other full timers. We came to the conclusion that the regular 9-5 rat race was taking a toll on us. She had a higher stress job with unrealistic deadlines and my job required a lot of standing which was killing my back (Back issues) along with the 60 minute daily commute.

27 foot Forward Control. This was the perfect size we were looking for. Not to small and not to big.. Should be able to go many places. And look at that wheel base! Great turning radius! I followed some wise advice I read in a forum, "The right bus will find you"
She fit snuggly behind the house. I live on a postage stamp size lot.
Ceiling and insulation came out no problem. I found no sign of mold and not much rust. Also you can see we removed the excess wiring.
I found this small creature under a seat....
Bought 1 100W panel for now. I think I will build a "portable" folding 200w charge setup.
Ceiling out.
