Re: Model 05 Silver Eagle
I'm not driving for Pepsi. A few issues but the big issue the bay truck deliverey position is paid as a flat rate of 450/week + commisstion .13 case u unload and non union 12-14 hr days. which means u jump in and out of a tin can all day and make no O/T no benifits. say your route was from pepsi in roswell to carlsbad 70 miles away and your first stop was at 6am. so u get to pepsi at 4am dr4ive to carlsbad get there at 6am that was all free time. the drive home 70 miles free time. I'm not unloading cases of soda and water all day in new mexico 115 degree tewmps in sumer and 50 mph winds and 30degree days in wuinter working 12-14 hr days with no OT etc

Re: Model 05 Silver Eagle
Charging storge battery bank. I have made my mind up. I have a 5.5 hp honda motor that is brnad newjust about on my air compessor I bought to paint the bus. Ok here is charging setup.mount onto the air compressor platform a balmar 7series auto motive alternator kit. I will put a 8" pully on engine and 3" on alternator. 2500rpm engine with 8" pully will spin alternator to he required 6000 rpm to make 110 amp charge. This is te most effective ad over 2 times faster than a conventional smart charger to charge battery banks. My unit will go in the bay storage.
http://www.boundlessoutfitters.com/Balmar-7-Series-110-Amp-12V-Hitachi-Style-p/b02-70-yp-110-kit.htm
It is not cheap but for anyone doing serious off grid this is the best way to go I think. I will build this first then id like t go with 2 rolls surrette 800amp hr batterys. That means I can kic the charger on every other day or maybe once a week...depends on usage and after about 15hrs should have a complete 100% charge.

Re: Model 05 Silver Eagle
Oh sure iv thought about solar....its all how hard u want to work and how much to invest in project. But yes solar would be a huge break on power during the day and I can recharge back at night while I sleep so nothing is depleting batterys. Ill come up wth somthing. Lots of tme to thing driving semi truc over the road

You have done a great job on your bus.
Does that cute dog go with you on your journeys?
Those George Forman grills work great.

Re: Model 05 Silver Eagle
up here in Wisconsin.cold cold cold. i plan in about a week when I get back home to do some framing on the bus inside. I want to build a insulated wall in between the drivers area (mud room) and living area floor. pretty much a wall with a door separating the cab from the rest or the coach.
and maybe add some cabinets...frame in the cabinet where the refrigerator (2way LP 110v) will go

Re: Model 05 Silver Eagle
You can see our bus in my daughters back yard. Her house is the grey roof next to the bright white roof. The long white thing is the bus. The bus hasn't been there since Dec 2011!
