Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

I saw Chad's Eagle today! Went to get 13 sheets of 4X4 pegboard (best price.. FREE off Craigslist). Guy who had it lives near the West Relief Route on 380. He has 300 more sheets. I'd get more if I had a use for it and a place to store it. Anyway... Chad's bus looks so lonely sitting out there all by it's self. Keith, you need to get out there to keep it company. Paint looks nice from the highway.

plywood...I need some!! If my truck was thier I'd a given you the tour, However i was at China king Super Buffet with my aunt and cousin!!

Yes that rv park that i thought you were at has a billboard on the property next to it for town and country rv park!! aha

I have not painted the bus yet..that is just primer, I need to block sand the bus and still shoot the paint. I also have all the buffing wheels and compound to buff the aluminum, but i haven't started that yet either!

I'm still recovering from the last 8 months of construction. I'll resume construction in a month or 2

It seems i dcan run a 5000btu A/C off my 1000 honda EU what do you all think according to the link. I stay in the back of my bus anyway, i know a 5000btu will cool it down just the back, heck i can even close of the bathroom, don't need to cool that either!

it will be a test of faith..i have a digital thermostate on my furnace and will document how well it cools ,how long it takes and how many degree's. but my bus is very very well insulated.I would guess on a 100 degree day the a/c could bring it down to 80 just a guess

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

We will be in the high 80's all week. Wednesday will be hitting 90 again.

I keep checking Craigslist daily looking for plywood etc. That's how I found the pegboard.

We've eaten at China King a couple times. Love the shrimp.

Bus still looks nice in the goldenrod coloured primer. And it looks good from the highway! You do realize that if you polish the aluminum you will need to either clear coat it or polish it all the time. I once saw an Eagle that had the aluminum polished then painted with a red tinted clear coat. The top section (the part you have primed) was painted that "fake" candy apple red. It looked real good and eliminated the need to polish all the time.

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

Here is how to install a wiondow A/C in a bus , without the window.

Step 1. get yout ools together sawzal , drill , rivets ,screws etc.

step 2. start by cutting the hole to the size of the A/C you want in your bus

lol

i will say the honda 1000 is powering the 5050btu just fine, and it is ice cold in the back of bus. itn is muggy hot and kionda nasty out right now, but not back here. i will remove the A/C when i move the bus long distancesn and will make a flap(door) that will shut and seal the hole when the A/C is not in place

here is a look inside of my walls. you can see behind the 1/8" luan plywood is 1/2" plywood and then 1" 1/2" foam insulation. Now if you look at my pictures when i put the bathroom in, I installed r19 insulation over all this and kicked the bathroom(middle of bus wall) out 6" to reduce the temps when the sun is going down and hits the middle of the bus.
