That is a beautiful little doggie.

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

The project moved forward alot faster then i had anticipated. Next thing I knew i was changing oil, fuel filters and on my wat to San Francisco! Here are a few photo's of the trip. I stayed a few days in half moon bay before bringing the bus into SF. No break downs...The only thing i was concerned about was blowing a tire but good luck so far! Here are a few better quality photo's.

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

I have been super busy. I finished converting the entire front of bus. furnished painted and all. I also bought my paint. Also installed 3 fan tastic vents model 6000 rbta. i already installed them 1 rear , 1 bathroom , and 1 in the living room(front of bus). I also bought a duracell generator 3500 wattb from homedepot. It was only about 800.00 and more than half the price of a 3000 watt honda. It has electric start ,pretty quiet (I installed it under my bus ) of course louder out in the open but not unbarable. i bought it to run some heavey tools, and I'm going to use it to run a 13,000 btu portable A/C for air conditioning in the bus.

List of supplys :
fan tastic vent : http://www.fantasticvent.com/products/m ... _6000.html (3)
Paint: http://www.paintforcars.com/kits_champa ... allic.html ( I bought 5 of these kits)
Primer: http://www.paintforcars.com/primer_self_etching.html (i bought 5 gallons of this)
Sander: Chicago DA (dual action) - bought on amazon.com
Sand paper: box or 100 , 80 grit box of 100, 120 grit bought on amazon.com
Thinner: mineral sprits 5 gallons
Air compressor : http://www.homedepot.com/buy/tools-hard ... 63424.html

Paint GUN : http://www.amazon.com/DeVILBISS-FinishL ... =8-2-fkmr0

and lots of misc stuff.

I just started sanding today. I am taking the whole bus down to original primer/or metal. But i'm stripping the whole thing. roof and all. iI plan to just paint it outside, in the shade on a clear non windy day. I think a good 3 days of sanding 5 hour days, should get the sides done, and a good 20 hrs on the roof and in 2 weeks should be ready to spray the primer. Another 4000. spent but now she is starting to look better.

I will get some pictures up tommorow

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

I live in hollywood and know of a few bridges that i can park the bus under to prime and paint it. I wonder if there is a test to do to see if painting it under a bridge is better

Wouldn't you get a lot of dirt drifting down from the overhead autos?

Use care when sanding around the caps.

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle

I think if i park it out of direct sunlight for a few hrs. I should be fine. This is not a show bus... just put alot of time nd money into this project and would like to apply a decent paint job

Livin on the edge. Painting a bus on the street. Love it!

Keep at it and hopefully the neighbors down wind won't notice.

It's gonna look sharp when you are done.
