Re: Motobus

Motobus, I am sure you looked into it, but just double checking...are those axels rated to carry that much weight?! The trailer looks cool and I like the setup, but 2 vehicles on only 2 axles concerns me. If they are only 5k, you are probably over with the weight of the trailer, especially if you load any gear on it. If they are 7k axles, you would probably be fine. Like I said, you probably thought it through. I hope

Re: Motobus

the auto t-case comes right off just unbolt it, (5spd does not) the 4l30 tranny has a 27 spline output

the 4wd 700r4 also has 27 spline so you could in theory put a 203 box on and the 205 behind that...lot's of combo's

Re: Motobus

The axles are 6500 lb.

The plan then is a jack shaft from the auto to the married 465/205.

Re: Motobus

Went on the maiden voyage with two rigs on the trailer. It stopped and handled everything well with a strong crosswind. Forward momentum on the other hand was another thing but about what I expected. Someone told me truck drivers would take a headwind over a side wind any day. I didn't know that, I have a lot of vehicle to catch wind from the side as well, maybe it can be a shorter trip on a calm day.

Re: Motobus

All 138 horses of it. We took rural blacktops to avoid traffic, lots of short hills up and down. It took us 75 minutes to drive 41 miles there. Burned about 18 gallons in 82 miles. We could have done better taking state highways. Stupid slow.
