In WA, OR, and CA emergency exits in the roof have been part of the minimum spe'c for more than 20-years.

I suppose I made the wrong assumption the spe'c was standard on all buses.

The roof hatches that can be opened as ventilators is such a nice thing to have I just couldn't imagine anyone not ordering them.

But when one is trying to get something in for the lowest cost, anything that isn't required becomes an unnecessary expense.

those hatches almost always end up leaking in heavy rain.. so I think they only get ordered if they are required as emergency exits..

this is a kickASS bus!!!! im loving this build out!!

It blew up from your neck of the woods ....it's white camo, see how well it blends in with the lawn.

...Well my parts didn't show up, snowed in. Maybe tomorrow I'm told, and now it's snowing again.

I did get some hub and nut covers to finish off the rims.

I like how you have the front hinged for storage and the back hinged for reclining. Pretty smart idea!

when you build furniture out of plywood what do you do to cover it?

i keep struggling with the idea of trying to find something pre-made that sort of maybe will fit my needs. . or building it as you have but then I get stuck at the point of trying to make it look finished.

I can't take credit for the furniture, my ol' man built it. I let him come up with ideas. The booth is my layout more or less, pretty simple. The couch/bench was his baby, I had the lid double thick with the top piece folding over into the aisle to make it into the bed. The bottom would have had a hinge at the back so I could lift it as a lid....a lot heavier and more plywood.
The couch is double hinged forward, first hinge is the back rest, second hinge allows you to have access to the storage box. The seat slides forward on hardwood runners and the back drops down flat, under the seat there are three folding support legs held up with magnets. I'll try posting again, grrr.Click image for larger version

I bought good one side 3/4" with a pine veneer, I'm painting the insides of the storage boxes white [bad side] and clear coating the good side to give it a cabin feel. I figured when it gets banged and chipped, and it will, it'll be a plywood colour under the clear. The battle scars won't show up as bad.

Whipped up a couple of experimental movable tie down bracket thingys, gunna use them for securing genny, bbq, bikes maybe, who knows. I'll make 8 more with grade 8 bolts and a little heavier steel and link for the ATV's....holes are already there in/on the wall may as well use them.

Having issues with uploading pics and have fallen way behind...and this is the only way I seem to be to get pics up.
Furniture has three coats of exterior paint inside and three coats of exterior clear on the outside....as do the walls and everything else to be painted/cleared.
Cleaning up bits and pieces and repainting as we go. Replaced the Panasonic cassette deck with an Alpine CD player I had from my old truck. Using aluminum angle to mount furniture to the floor, with stainless hardware.
My mother and wife decided to do the upholstery on the cushions... 3" dense foam. Mosey Oak denim, mom found 20 yards in Desert Hot Springs in Cali when visiting her sister...think it was called "Diane's" , she hit five stores in the area to get the twenty yards I needed, what a trooper....mom's 76, used her 50% off seniors card and it was still $450. Canadian.
Made a jig for the 1x1" aluminum I'm using to mount walls [3/4" pine veneer plywood] , used the screws in the roof bows and made longer pieces for the sides and floor. Didn't want 2x2 or 2x4 walls, needed the space. Anyone else tried this, couldn't find anything here. Doors will have a lip on top and bottom
sorta like a boat....I'm already bangin' my head off $#IT so what's one more thing to duck under.

If you're wanting those pics in your post...

They need image tags [img] text [/img]

Or copy your picture link, hit this icon, and paste your picture link in the popup box

Then post like normal

Nevermind, I tried it with one of your pics and it didn't show up

Weird
