Haven't really done anything lately, lots of rain and it's not much fun crawling under a bus when it's wet and cold out. Having some issues bolting the booth and couch down. Can't get to the cross members where the bolts poke through, the two storage boxes on either side and frame rails are in the way. So we've welded nuts to pieces of angle and going in blind. If we can't make that work we may have to hole saw some holes in the storage boxes and patch later? Just finishing up the seat belt mounts for the passenger seat.

Adding seat belts...and after thought, didn't think I'd need them.

What's a hunt cabin without some ducks...lots of screws to pick from when mounting.

Well I got all the seats bolted down, seat belts installed …enough belts for 8 people. Passenger side shoulder belt mount made and installed and whipped up a couple of drink holders out of some 4” exhaust pipe. Just welded a piece of flat bar and angle to the side and mounted it to the corner using an existing screw and drilled another, the other one I had an old RAM mount so I just drilled and tapped the bottom plate and used number 10 x 5/16” machine screws…had them both powder coated. When I stretched the shifter 4” I found that it was too close to the door mechanism so I did it over again ….a 10” stretch, more of a rat rod look. Had the appraisal done June 7th and now trying to get insurance ever since…..multiple insurance companies, bummer.

It's a good day to see a cup holder in a bus like that. Or is that a beer holder?

What a nice job of putting your bus together.

Thanks CB, Chris and Robin.

Wow a couple of months go by so fast!

So the MULE is up and kicking after spending countless hours on the phone, emails, sending more pics to multiple insurance companies for the past month+. The insurance company didn’t want to touch it because it didn’t have a permanent cooking facility/kitchen [stove, cupboards, counter etc]. That’s the way it’s written according to the insurance company. To make a long story shorter…. which is not the norm for me. We, wife and I argued the fact our cupboards are under the seats/couch due to the fact I’m 6’-3” and the bus is 6’ inside and has 11 windows down each side [sent more pics]. We also wanted the weight added to the Mule on the floor to keep the center of gravity low, and cooking outside for less chance of a grease fire or even propane leaks [which has already happened to a fella on this forum and didn’t end well].
So we asked the insurance Co. this….”so if I go and buy a used piece of crap propane stove from an old RV/MH that we really have no idea how good it really is and bolt it down inside the Mule that’s safer than not having a permanent kitchen and then you’ll insure it?”
They didn’t have an answer…. paused for a second and said I’ll call you back in a couple of hours, I’ll have to talk to upper management. Two and a half hours later, we’re insured…. insurance company said they’re going to look into rewriting/updating stipulations needed for RV/MH status. Thursday, my brother wife and I went for a 40 min cruise around town…. cause we could, then drove it 45 min to work yesterday morn [3:45am] to show some of the guys I work with. No less than 20 people went through the ol’ girl with phone cameras…. that was a bit of a rush. The ride home was even better, rattles like a key ring full of keys, speakers suck, it’s a bit ssllooww [115kmh @2300/2400rpm] compared to my 5 liter pick up…. still couldn’t wipe the smile off my face with plastic surgery. New seat covers being made, proto type and finished, thanks mom. Arms not finished yet. The universal browning cover fit like a triple xl shirt on 50 pound kid.

Went camping last week, half hour north of Huntsville, she'll do a buck 20 kmh @2600 pullin' the trailer with 2 ATV's [61 feet long], not sure how much more I want to push it.
Camp site 1 for a few days, on the trail with friends, a large tree knee cap, a fresh large wolf track, a stuck brother and friend....take pics then help, camp site 2, site 1 was pre booked for the last couple of our days.
Back to work next week, then off for a week, back up north with wife and a couple of friends for more ATVing, a few pops and some R n R.

One thing worth noting about super single...it cuts a lot weight...add that to cargo...skoolies don't generally haul cargo...just a thought
