Just got back from insurance broker.
I registered my Alberta bus in BC.
When I bought the bus I paid for it, no taxes.
When I registered it I owed taxes on it 420.00. Prefect number lol
Found out I need inspection before I can insure it, I knew that.
After inspection and repairs it has to be insured as a "commercial vehicle (bus)" ouch. Even with seats out. 😣
There is no time limit on the conversion though.
Saga continues

Good luck man, I hear BC has quite the insurance racket.

So I took my bus to get the inspection. Hand over my registration. Shop owner says I can't do your bus it's registered as a "school bus". I said the ICBC insurance office said it had to be. He said he would inspect my bus as a bus, I went back to ICBC Insurance office.
At the insurance office I said my inspection garage says my bus is not a "school bus". They ask for pictures, no problem everyone has pictures of their bus. They agree it's not a school bus. But what is it, back to the computer. Looking through the "drop down menu" there is no "bus" just school bus, transit bus, commercial bus, unscheduled bus.
So they change it to unscheduled bus.
I walk away thinking this is not right yet. I try to research on the great unknown WorldWide Web....nothing.
Going to wait until after the inspection to sort the registration out.

I just picked up my bus from the inspection.
It sure did not cover the topics I thought it would.
Received a list of deficiencies, 1/4 the length I thought I would get. Will work on the list and get it looked at again, maybe a different shop.

Another one of those days...went to ICBC Insurance broker. Short story bus is a commercial passenger carrying bus until it gets converted to a rv. Insurance quote for 1 yr full discount as a commercial passenger carrying bus is $2400.00...OUCH

Took a look at the rear tail lights to make a decision to replace lenses or complete fixtures. Here is a picture of the passenger side. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxp...w?usp=drivesdk
The surface mount fixtures are badly rusted. All fixtures leak dust and water. Also found out that all fixtures except for a brake/turn/license plate light fixtures use the standard 1156 bulbs.

Just received my order from Atlantic shed. 2-3 point latch for the front door. http://www.atlanticshed.com/2point.htm
On the latch mechanism is stamped spep.com
Turns out spep.com is Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products is supplier of all sorts of door hardware for almost anything you can think of.
Check them out @ http://spep.com

I received a reply from Doug Anguish @ Custom Bus and Truck Panels Inc.
http://busandtruckpanels.com
They can make the rear "tag panels" for a very good price.

Been around 103* for highs lately. I just work in the shade. For my new build I am building a bus-port. Highs have dropped into the 90's here, so working on projects will be easier. SA, Texas.

85?? pshhh!
Try 105. With nearly 100% humidity!
Just gotta get over it and do it. Two summers mowing now, I'm nearly immune to it, but I used to stand over a hot plasma table all day before that.
