This bus tight! You say you never built anything so did you get any help inz framing, plumbing, solar or whatever? I too am going to attempt at converting on my on. Bought a bus on ebay and might go pick it up this weekend.

Originally from California but moved from Little Rock Arkansas to Houston Texas last August on a job transfer and while living in my car until i saved up for an apartment I decided, I wanna live in a bus!

Was the roof raise easy? How did you come up with how to do that? Was it expensive? Do you know of a company that does this type of work in the Houston area?

I know, alot of questions but i so desperately want to convert. Been researching for months!

Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions and any tips/advice

Well done for your first attempt! Most of us need a second (and sometimes third) bus in order to get the results you've achieved. Well done! (Just like the way my wife likes her steaks - with just a bit of ashes around the edges.)

What made you choose fiberglass insulation? Are those 2x4's you framed them in with? I think the R13 stuff is designed to utilize the full 3.5" width. Most of us here chose rigid foam because of mold concerns. I checked mine, saw that it was brand new, and laid rigid foam over that for a heavily insulated skoolie.

Great looking build.

Interesting sequence to the project.

I think I would have done the ceilings before I did anything else, including the floor. But, I am sure you did it your way for what seemed like to you to be a logical and smart reason that I am too dim to guess.

At a rate of $1,200.00 per month you can accumulate a lot of cash to pay for stuff rather than losing it each month to your landlord.

Now that it is basically completed are you going on the road with it?

Good luck and Happy Trails to you!
