Nice bird!

With that paint job you'll never know the joy of finally painting it, and getting rid of the accursed schoolbus yellow.

Birds are about as good as platforms get...and that one looks especially sweet. And you'll love the Cummins. Great motors that are good for a half-a-million miles with reasonable upkeep. I am transplanting a Cummins into my '46 Chevy. What is the transmission...an Allison maybe???

Honestly, miles that low on a 15 year old bus would scare me. How much sitting did it do, and how many hours did it spend idling?

I do love the fact that the 1997 Bird uses an early-90's GMC medium-truck gauge cluster, though!

i got a 94 bird 72 passger and it was use just for the band and small field trip and mine only has 36,000 miles on it and i got all the service records so i know it true,,,, so i see u got a GM frame like my tc2000 ,,back in the 90s blue bird bought rolling frames from factorys ,now in todays market they make there own frame,i belive the last bought frame was in 2005,when they change over ....i know someone that works down there at the GA plant...
my bus is from ALABAMA...most schools only keep there bus 15 yrs du to the grovement stands, Now Ca keep there bus 20 yrs as long they pass a inspection they have every yr...but i know ,tenn, Ga ,ALA,VA,LA,TX is 15 yrs top no matter how many miles unless u get over 200.000 miles so u see 15 comes fast,
