Nascar Bus

We finished our bus last year that we take to the races twice yearly in Kansas City, and I just wanted to post some pics on here of it. We love this website, and got lots of idea from other peoples posts and pictures, just wanted to do the same for others. We're now in the process of putting a propane refrigerator in, that way we don't have to always have our generator running at the racetrack. We're also going to put diamond plate on the stairs before the race in April. Always something to add! You can see pics of it on the gallery under NascarBus.

Re: Nascar Bus

Thanks for the link Steve. We used to take our travel trailer to the races, but could only get 4-5 people on top, we didn't want to put too much weight on the roof, so my husband finally talked me into his "dream", the bus. When you go into the speedway, you have to have running water, and a toilet. We decided not to use up any more room for a shower, as they have shower facilities in the infield, and we were looking to be able to sleep as many people as we could, as we have a line of friends and family wanting to go wth us to the races!

Re: Nascar Bus

They're 1 feet square tiles, and much to my husband's suprise, I did it all, without them beig crooked! Each person got to choose their bunk colors as their favorite driver, and of course, the inside is Tony Stewart orange, which he has now switched teams, and is red! But, we're gonna leave it orange for old-times sake! The one thing we should have did was use 3/4 inch plywood on the floor instead of 3/8, as it has a little bow in the middle. Also, if anybody has doubts about whether or not to insulate, just do it!! We didn't, as we only use our bus twice yearly, in April and September in Kansas City, but you never know about those April nights, and that metal really gets cold if you have any cold April nights. The other thing is, we added the window unit which is an ac and heater, and my husband says he wishes he would have put a regular rv furnace. Which, is why my husband is trying to talk me into buying another bus to start over. I tell him nope, I love my bus!
