Mmmmm...like the silver. But now you gotta' dye the dog to match.

Most of the silver paint is finished. I'm going to paint between the two middle rub rails black and repaint the remaining rub rails black too. I'm worried I might get drips of black on the silver, not sure if I should do the rails with a foam rubber brush and the can of paint I bought or use rattle cans and a piece of cardboard to prevent over spray?

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot in the paint section and buy a self adhesive edge barrier. They aren't too pricey and you just put it on like you are taping an edge. Makes it easier if you use spray, and can do it by yourself.

Thanks guys, The silver paint is XO-Rust which was thinner than I expected, for some reason Rustoleum won't ship that color to CT. Anyway I used Rustoleum black and it is much thicker, I actually ended up thinning it a bit which worked fine with brush, roller and some foam brushes. Still have to re-pint more rub rails, but I'm happy with the progress.

What would really set that paint job off would be top paint the wheels silver and the lugs and centers black.

I picked up this steel box a while back on CL 18"x18"x36", it will nicely accommodate 6, 6 volt deep cycle batteries for storing the electricity from 600 watts of panels. Someone had welded a shelf in it that took me an hour and a half to cut out. Anyway this is the next project. Curious I'm thinking of utilizing the upper wiring chases for most of my wiring A.C. and D.C. and then dropping them down to boxes, is this what most folks do, I've seen some that run conduit beneath the bus and come back up?

Spent the day adding an underbelly box for the batteries for 600w of solar panels. Turns out a motorcycle lift is ideal for lifting stuff like this.

Curious as to how you secured the box to the bus....I really like that idea and would like too add that to my list...

I used these style clamps with 1/2-13 threaded rod and a spacer inserted into the open channel supports then uni-strut under the box. I used the proper uni-strut hardware and lock washers and nuts, this allowed me to tighten the nuts until the box was locked directly to the floor supports above. I still need to add a couple of cross beams of the uni and move the box a little closer to the outer skin, I measured the opening to over lap the box in the front which will allow me to screw the skin to the box around the perimeter of the door. I'll try to get pictures of the support structure later today.
