Re: new member 1965 chevy

The '65 Chevy buses were great vehicles. Tough as nails and never gave any trouble. I believe that bus originally came with a 292 high torque straight six that was indestructible. They didn't start putting power steering on them till 1967, but they drove great without it. The first Chevy bus that I saw with a V-8 was in 1968. All our '68's had 327's.

Ahhh, this is the earliest V-8 I've seen then. I have about 60,000 miles in a Chevy bus with a 350 4-bolt main. That was a good match up and all our drivers loved them. We never had any problems on those buses. Once they got into the higher miles, we'd have to add a quart a day of oil, but they ran great. The only thing we had that would out-pull them was the Internationals. Can't remember the cubic inch on that engine, but is seems like it was about 345. It was a good bus, but the Chevys drove better.
